Taunya Covington, Principal

Taunya’s agency and corporate communications experience spans 17+ years, with an emphasis in high technology. During client briefings with successful business professionals and entrepreneurs from around the world, she learns from where they derive professional passion, how they overcome business challenges, and what core competencies they possess that enable them to excel.

Prior to founding The Brane Company, Taunya was a member of the Microsoft Corporate PR team. In her role, she had management responsibility for IT Analyst Relations, including contract negotiations, worldwide AR training, events, and infrastructure projects. She also served as a liaison for key influencers and Company executives.

Before joining Microsoft, she directed corporate communications teams for both privately and publicly held companies. Her expertise includes writing, communications stategy, product marketing, spokesperson coaching and media placements. In addition to managing PR agency staff as a corporate client, her client service was honed at boutique PR firms in Los Angeles and New York. She has a B.A. in Communications, with specialized training in positioning, corporate negotiations, crisis management and branding.
